The Grünwaldkopfbahn and the Hochalmbahn are operational from the beginning of July until the middle of September. In summer, the picturesque Krummschnabel lake (very close to the high alp) has bathing temperatures!!

The Almseilgarten in Obertauern, “Alles Alm” on the Gnadenalm (easily accessible by foot from Obertauern via the Johannes waterfall), a petting zoo, wildlife park and angling in Untertauern, or horseback riding in Tweng are just a handful of the many regional activities on offer for you and your family!
Anyone who has ever been on a mountain bike in the mountains can appreciate the meaning of freedom. When pedalling uphill, your pulse increases; once you reach the top, you are proud of your performance and will be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama.

Enjoy a truly special motorcycle experience on the legendary B99 federal highway from Bischofshofen, via Obertauern to Spittal an der Drau. Pure freedom on your machine: Nockalm Road, Grossglockner High Alpine Road or Sölk Pass are absolute highlights in the area!

You can go for a swim in Hotel Panorama (Obertauern) or Hotel Lürzerhof (Untertauern).
Visit „Therme Amade“ in Altenmarkt, a mere 20 minutes away by car.
Hiking bus (Bus Card)
Attention all hiking fans! In Obertauern, Untertauern and Tweng, you can purchase the “ganz oben” (right to the top) bus ticket. Take a trip between Mauterndorf and Filzmoos in the comfortable hiking bus. Per person, 1 euro per trip. This way, hiking in one direction becomes easy and inexpensive, while the bus offers a convenient way to return back home again.
